There is increasing interest in having students give oral presentations for assessment. Additionally, you may wish to record content for flipped classroom or other pedagogical needs. There are numerous ways to record presentations and videos. Here are two ways using tools that all Hollins students and faculty members have free access to use.
Option 1: PowerPoint
For creating solo or team presentations using PowerPoint, please see this video: https://www.loom.com/share/6d33baa11abb4b7eb867b8b967c3cd94

3. In the top-right corner, click the “Meet now” button (Sometimes labeled "Meet" or shown as a small camera icon depending on your Teams version)
4. In the pop-up:
o Give your meeting a name (optional, e.g., “Solo Presentation”)
o Click “Start meeting”
5. A meeting window will open. You are now in a live meeting by yourself. (Depending on your settings you may be asked to give permission or select camera/microphone information before entering.)
6. Turn on your camera and microphone as needed.
7. Click the three dots (...) on the top toolbar and choose “Record and transcribe” > “Start recording” to begin recording your presentation. If you need to share slides or your screen, you will find those options under the Share button along the top toolbar.
8. When finished, click the three dots again and choose “Stop recording.”
9. Click Leave to end the meeting.
10. Your recording will appear in the Chat tab under the meeting name. Once the video has rendered you will be able to click on it and share it from there.
