Instructional Technology at Hollins

Hollins University supports teaching and learning with a range of technology tools available to all faculty. Whether you're designing a course, collecting data, or exploring new ways to engage students, there are resources here to help — and a person to help you use them.

Our core tools include:

  • Moodle — Hollins's learning management system for course pages, assignments, grades, and student communication

  • Microsoft 365 — As a Microsoft campus, Hollins faculty and staff have full access to the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, and more

    • Microsoft Teams — Available for virtual meetings, office hours, and more

    • Microsoft SharePoint — A platform for storing, organizing, and sharing documents and resources across teams or departments

    • Microsoft Forms — A simple tool for building surveys, quizzes, and polls that integrates with other Microsoft apps

    • Microsoft Copilot — An AI assistant available to Hollins faculty through our Microsoft 365 subscription, with enterprise-level data protection when signed in with Hollins credentials

  • Zoom — Also available for virtual meetings and course sessions; free version (40-minute meeting) limits apply unless department pays for a license

  • Qualtrics — A powerful survey and data collection platform available to Hollins faculty for research, course assessments, and more
