Making audio calls in Teams

One of the easiest ways to call people in Teams is to leverage your contacts. Hover over any person in your contact list and click the phone icon to start an audio call with no dialing.

Use the People app to add/view contacts

To open the People app in Teams, click on the Calls app and then click on View contacts.

Pro tip!

You can right-click the People app and pin it to the menu for easier future access.

Add a new contact

Click on the silhouetted person icon to add a new contact.

Organize your contacts

Hover over any contact and these icons will pop up:

• Star adds the contact to favorites.

• Phone begins an audio call with the contact.

• … opens the following context menu.

Use favorites, speed dial, and categories to organize your contacts into groups for easier access. Your Favorites and Categories are in the upper-left corner of the People app.

Desk phones

The People button on your desk phone opens your contacts.

Here can view all contacts, favorites, categories, and your speed dial list. Select contact and then scroll down and select the Phone icon to begin an audio call.
