Hollins University uses omnilert to provide alert notifications related to inclement weather events and campus emergencies. Active students and employees can subscribe to receive notifications by SMS text message, email, voice message, and the omnilert app.

Subscription Expiration

The default subscription period is four years, after which you will need to re-subscribe to continue to receive emergency alerts. You will receive email notification from omnilert before your subscription expires.

How to Subscribe for Emergency Alerts

Create an account

Goto the Hollins University Omnilert Subscriber Portal and sign in with your Hollins University username and password.

Your information will be pre-populated. Click ‘Create Account’.

Add your notification methods (services)

You must select your preferred notification method(s) in order to receive emergency alerts. Omnilert refers to the different notification methods as ‘services’.

The options are:

• SMS Numbers (text message)

• Email Addresses

• Voice Numbers (phone)

• Omnilert App (mobile devices & MacOS)

SMS Numbers

Enter your preferred number to receive SMS (text message) emergency alerts and click ‘Add new’.

Omnilert will text you a code to verify your subscription status. Enter the code and click ‘Validate’.

Email Addresses

Enter your preferred email address to receive email messages and click ‘Add new’.

Omnilert will email you with a link to verify your subscription status. Click the link in your email to verify your subscription.

Omnilert App

The omnilert app is available for iOS (Apple) & Android mobile devices. Click on either of the following links to download the omnilert app from the AppStore or Google play.

Omnilert provides you a personal access code that is required to install the omnilert app. Do not share this code with anyone.

When you open the omnilert app on your mobile device you will be asked for your personal access code. Enter your code and click ‘Log in’.
